COMMUNITY
FOREST DISASTER FUND
Disaster.
We have heard that word a lot lately.
It shows up on television, comes at us through the radio, and as we
glance at the morning paper it is there as well.
Natural disasters are not uncommon to Colorado as we saw in the summer of
2002 when wildfires raced throughout our forests, subdivisions, and communities;
however, natural disasters are not limited to wildfires.
Colorado has been tormented with hail, tornados, wind storms, and snow
storms. All of these natural
disasters have taken a toll on the residents and the tre
es
in those areas.
Rebuilding the lives and the homes of the people affected by these disasters is, and should remain, our highest priority. But soon people within these areas want to rebuild something else – their community. Be it a neighborhood, a subdivision, a town or a city they want it restored. And more times than not, trees play an important part in the restoring and healing process.
The Colorado Tree Coalition has established a fund with the sole purpose of helping restore communities affected by natural disasters; it is the Community Forest Disaster Fund (CFDF). Benefits of contributing to the CFDF are:
· 100% of all contributions will go to affected communities for tree planting or tree related expenses.
· The Colorado Tree Coalition is a recognized 501 (c) (3), all contributions are tax deductible.
· The distribution of funds is directed by the CFDF committee but you can see where your dollars went and how they helped by visiting our web site (www.coloradotrees.org) or through our newsletter, Tree Talk.
· Funds are managed by the CFDF committee under the direction of the Colorado Tree Coalition executive board.
· Donating is easy. You can donate on line at www.coloradotrees.org or by completing the form below. .
